200 Exhibitors at aluexpo

aluexpo is the first international trade fair of the aluminium industry in Turkey. It will be organized from 15 through 18 October 2009 in Istanbul.

At aluexpo all fields of modern aluminium technology are presented, ranging from foundry and metallurgical products to processing machinery and related services. At this first venue from 15 to 18 October 2009 an exhibition area of about 5,000 square metres will be covered at the IDTM Istanbul Center. Approximately 200 exhibitors from countries such as India, China, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey turn this product trade fair into an attraction for the aluminium industry.

“The combination of a high share of imports and a dynamic development of aluminium processing make Turkey attractive to foreign companies, particularly as a venue of an international industry fair,” say the organizers. The total volume of the Turkish aluminium industry is about four billion US dollars. The Turkish industry’s competitiveness has grown over past years due to investments in rolling mills, with increasing exports of aluminium products as a result. Despite the economic crisis, the industry is quite optimistic about its future. “Domestic demand is growing as buyers such as the car industry, the mechanical engineering and electrical industries, the aviation industry as well as the packaging industry are on the upswing.”

aluexpo is organized by Hannover-Messe Ankiros Fuarcilik A.S., Ankara – a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe Hannover, with the support of the Turkish aluminium industry association TALSAD. In conjuntion with the fair, TALSAD organizes the fourth aluminium symposium where experts will be discussing technological developments and future prospects of the aluminium industry.
